Carlos Marrero
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Carlos Marrero moved to the USA to study fashion illustration at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he later became a fashion illustration professor. After working with top magazines like Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and ELLE, Marrero launched The Marrero Collection in 2015, renowned for its exquisite silk scarves. In 2021, captivated by Asheville’s art community and mountain scenery, he relocated there. His work was featured at Marquee Asheville until Hurricane Helene destroyed the venue. Now, his silk scarves are showcased at Mark Bettis Gallery in the River Arts District.
