Asheville-based artist David Sheldon created this painting for his solo show, CONSCIOUS CONTACT. About this piece, he wrote: "A favorite place to go for a ‘walking meditation’ is along the French Broad River at Carrier Park ... This is one of those ‘iconic’ trees that many Asheville residents share a common love for. Tubers and kayakers put into the river right beside it, its graceful limb stretching across the river, as if saying, ‘welcome’."
